I highly recommend Yaya's cookbook! It's our favorite spot. Everything I've tasted from the menu has been delicious. If you enjoy cocktails, be sure to sit at the bar for dinner and try one of their handcrafted drinks. The bartending staff is exceptionally talented and friendly, making for a great experience. We always have a wonderful time and can't wait to return soon!
Yaya is one of my go-to places for Thai food. Drinks are great and food is even better. You really can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Perfect date night or girls night out atmosphere as well
I have seen YA-YAs on my recommended list and finally had an opportunity to go. My date wanted to take me there and I'm glad he did. When I arrived, the place was packed! But, instead of being discouraged, I took that to mean the food must be good. We checked in at the front and they called us to be seated after an hour. The table was a cute little 2 seater area, in a very busy room. The table had waters, and cloth napkins set up cute waiting for us. We ordered drinks from a very big bar, I tried one called a letter from my mother, and my date had Miss Stephanie.. both were really good. Our appetizers were veggie rolls, and crispy shrimp tempura. I liked both of those as well. And finally the entrees were orange chicken and sushi. Our server was great, she kept us drinking and brought the food out hot and perfectly cooked to us. I highly recommend this place, it be indulged of the wait t8me.
I always love Yayas the food is always so tasty and comes out piping hot and fresh. The servers are all very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is festive and always bubbly. The Gold Rush Drink was just what I needed to knock out my cold!
Visited Yaya's on a VERY busy Friday night for drinks and a good dinner. The bar was packed wall to wall with people, and tables were a 45 minute - hour wait. We were able to snag seats at the bar and ordered cocktails, and some custom mocktails. The bartender was great and made some delicious and creative mocktails. Service was good and we had no problem ordering food, which came fast, or getting water. The food - we had sushi, brussel sprouts, and Pad Thai. The Pad Thai came looking a little bit bare but wow! The flavor was amazing and was some of the best I've had in ages. I ate nearly the entire plate! Would highly recommend, but make sure to get there early to snag a table or you may be waiting a while for a seat, although it's well worth the wait!
My toxic trait... I get this as takeout and never take a picture of it. The best thing about this place... The food is very consistent and the service is always great. I have dined here so many times and I love the food, but I never take pictures because no matter how many times you take a picture of Thai food, you have to try it to know how good it is. This is the 2nd cutest of this sisterhood of restaurants (sabai, mpm tiki, etc). It's great for a night out... A quick lunch... some heat, some delicious flavors, and a great vibe.
Big taste! I finally tried Ya-Yas after so many coworkers recommended it, and boy did it not disappoint! I've been here a few times now and it's my go to local Thai place to take friends and family. I absolutely love and recommend the Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew. I know it might be basic, but they are staples for a reason, and Ya-Yas does them really really well. Flavor, spice, portion, all wonderful! While I thought it was pricey at first, I realized it's really to meals. Portions are great. The atmosphere is really unique and cool as well. While I wish some of the seating maybe had a cushion or two, it's a neat vibe. Staff is always so nice and helpful as well. TLDR: If you are looking for legit thai food and don't mind paying slightly more for high quality food, Yaya's is your place. Tasty and fresh.
I love Thai food but I always stick to pad see ew and drunken noodles. I have always been scared to try other things because I am picky. This day, my friends and I after doing some shopping at short pump mall decided to go get Thai food. They been here before and loved it. I haven't, my first time here. I am glad I went, it was a great experience! Nice ambiance and atmosphere. Staff are really nice and friendly. Food was delicious, a lot of options to choose from. I love Shirley temple drink and I think I had the best one here. For appetizers, we had Brussels sprouts, I was nervous about that at first because it has to be done really good for it to like Brussels sprout and that was the best I have had as well so far. The servers seems like a lot of fun, our server was very nice and interactive. He explained things to us and suggested meals to me since it was my first time there. I got pad thai and at first it was a little bit too sweet for me and I love spicy food so they gave me their spicy seasonings and it made the taste just right for me. I tried all my friends foods and they tasted really good as well. I think this place is my new favorite Thai restaurant. We went on a Saturday night. It seemed like a party there, crowded, people just having a good time, good vibes. I also like how the place it set up, small, nice and cozy.
I love, love, love, YaYa's Cookbook!! Okay! It is my first choice for Asian/Thai cuisine when I come to Richmond. Everything I have ever ordered is banging. I've had the Thai Fried Rice, Volcano Roll, Pad Thai, California Roll, Tom Kha Soup and a few others. I went for my 27th birthday and as usual we were greeted with a smiling face. The business is always thriving when you're there. It's busy, people are drinking, eating, chatting, etc. It's quite busy. The Lighting is just right and the seating is dynamic so all the times i've eaten there it's felt like a different experience. The street food vibe is definitely there and the place is bigger than it looks! It's truly and enjoyable place and if you can sit in the swinging chairs in front of sushi bar...you're lucky cause the seats are always taken!
Dinner at Yaya's did not disappoint! A group of four split 3 appetizers a day 3 entrees because we just couldn't make up our minds! Mean Girks, lady Bonita and unicorn cocktails to start. Bar area is very small, not always the best place to wait... especially on a Saturday night. We waited about 20 minutes for our table to be ready. We ordered tempura chicken, crispy wontons and curry puffs as appetizers. The chicken roll was the best, but took the longest. All apps were great, hot and fresh! For e trees we got bulgogi beef, orange chicken and pad Thai. All were DELICIOUS. Can't pick a favorite Great night out with friends.
